What to know before your evaluation
Define your requirements and ask the right questions during a demonstration.
How do department and personal dashboards differ?
A department dashboard reflects shared work needs, while a personal layout reflects individual preferences. Assigning a widget must not replace authorization to its data source. Evaluate department membership and access to the displayed record.
How can users judge the freshness of financial or regulatory widgets?
Display the source, last successful update and publication date where available. During an outage, old data must not appear current. Treat central-bank reference exchange rates and live market prices as different data products.
What is the first step in defining a KPI?
Define the business outcome, calculation, data source, owner and reporting period. For an overdue-task rate, specify which tasks enter the denominator. Do not treat a number as a management indicator without validating its source and calculation.
